the hidden language of CDs
Works such as the Identity and Trackmarks, explore music sharing and curating as a messaging system. Playlists echo notes passed between friends with songs and album art as the secretive vocabulary steeped with a depth of meaning only truly understood by those directly involved.
communication
Exploring visual art as a form of personal storytelling is a blurry autoethnographic retelling of life. Becoming both the subject and the analyst, layers of narrative overlap and deepen one another.
technology
Everyday technology (hi-fi and computers) + reactive computing (programming and sensors) = forward momentum in conceptual development and viewer integration.
psychology
Narrative selfhood, embodied cognition, psychoanalysis, and the bond between our conscious and unconscious. These foundational areas of research reflect real-world psychological building blocks.

Tracing the Marks:
Conceptual Development as a Mapping of the Psyche
This essay describes the relationship between psychoanalytic theories of embodiment and holding that exist at the conceptual core of my works. Investigating my studio work as a map of my psyche, my concepts will be interpreted through an understanding of myself backed by psychoanalysis to map their parallels.
